As I lay in my hospital bed, knowing I was going to have to do lots of exercises for my hands and feet, and never having been one for exercise, I began thinking about my rehabilitation project: exercise with a purpose.
Before this condition (Idiopathic Cryogrobulinaemic Vasculitis) took hold of me I had been thinking about my next exhibition: Entertaining Angels. I had been thinking about this for about four years and had thought that this was going to be the year. But hands and feet being as they are I knew my usual five month preparation frame would be out of the question.
As I lay in my bed I decided that there had to be more to this exhibition than I had already thought. This would be ‘the big one’. That night and the following two nights I dreamed an image. Out of this came three ‘rooms’.
I decided that aiming to put the exhibition on in 2020 would hopefully give me enough time. Entertaining Angels is the common theme travelling throughout the exhibition but other things will be going on too, so I thought the overall title 2020 Vision might make sense.
